The Highly Trusted sponsors scheme came into operation on 6 April 2010. Only education providers that are Highly Trusted sponsors are allowed to provide courses with work placements that are below degree level. All publicly funded (ie state-sector) education providers are automatically enrolled on this scheme, while private-sector education providers have to apply to join.
Since April 2012, students from non-EEA countries can only be accepted for a UK student visa if they are applying to a university or college rated Highly Trusted by the UKBA.
For each academic year, you can expect to pay £8,000 to £13,000 in fees for classroom-based courses, £9,000 to £16,000 for laboratory or workshop-based courses and £11,000 to over £26,000 for clinical courses.
Though the requirement is university specific, a minimum overall score of 6.0 is recommended.
International students can work up to 20 hours a week as part of their work experience. They can also take holiday work during vacations.
Candidates seeking student visa for UK, visa applications have to be made on IM2A forms, which are available at the British Embassies. This form has to be filled up by the student and submitted to the embassy, along with the Visa application fee and the required documents:
